Locating any families on your Pedigree Chart is as simple as looking at the number across from the marriage date and flipping to that clear numbered tab.
You were asked to file the appropriate forms behind the appropriate tabs (e.g. Pedigree Charts behind the Pedigree Chart tab, which is colored).
Pedigree charts have several other numbers as well. These are used to track families as they go back 5, 10, 30 or more generations. Every person on the chart is given a chart number, which is printed to the left of that person's name. Share with a classmate the number of generations you have entered into your genealogy computer program so far. (Don't worry if you only have three. That is normal at this point.) If you have fewer than three, ask your classmate what she/he would suggest. If there are no suggestions from a more experienced classmate, you will find some ideas in the next three lessons.
