As you will soon discover, various report formats help you analyze your family history data more effectvely not only in preparation for setting good research goals, but in finding answers to your family history mysteries.

Reports containing partial localities alert you that preliminary work needs to be done to determine the name of these places at the time of the event. Legacy has a new feature in version 5 that gives the researcher the correct counties in a state if the date is given. This is very handy for the researcher since researching in the wrong locality is the primary cause for poor results.

Problem lists can alert you to erroneous dates in your program which may require research to locate the proper answers. Approximate dates warn you that research is needed to locate the actual date of the event.

Practice the various print options available while you have fewer people to work with and can more easily understand the reports. You'll then be prepared to use these reports as necessary throughout your research experiences.
