From the Edit Individual screen select an "s" without an asterisk.

For example if you were interested in citing the birth date of an individual, double-click the "s" on the birth place line. This will bring up the following screen:

Highlight the source that you wish to cite in your notes concerning that birth and click Select. This will bring up the following screen.

On about the bottom one-third of the screen is the place where you enter the specific information concerning the source of where you found the information within the source that is being cited. This information consists of:

File/volume/page# — Enter the specific information where the piece of information was found. A volume and page number for a book, etc. For a detailed explanation of this and the other related items on this page go to the help file within the PAF system.
Date of entry — Enter the date that the item you have researched was actually entered on the books.
Comments — Any comments you wish to make about the source and or citation can be made here.
Actual Text — Click the Actual Text button. That will bring up a word pad type of screen. Type an adstract, extract or verbatim transcriptions of the information you found concerning the event you are sourcing. Once that citation has been entered, click Save to return to the Source screen, then click OK.
