Additional Research Guidance

Become familiar with the Area Research Guides, the World Conferences on Records reports, the Social Security Death Index, and other items in your center. The Monterey California FHC has an extensive Library Periodical Surname Notebook and card catalog system which indexes their thirty-five year collection of genealogical periodicals by major surnames and localities.

They also have the PERSI index on microfiche, CD, and in printed version. Once you locate an individual in that index, you can request a copy of the article from the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Forms are available in the center and fees are very nominal.
