Census Records

The local Family History Center has census indexes to most of the states in one or more of the following formats: print, CD, or microfiche collections. Use the local card catalog to find the states you need. If your family is from Great Britain, don't forget to search the 1851 and 1881 every-name index to the British Census Records. You will learn more about census records in Chapter 14. Just be aware of their existence in your Center at this time.
