Resources for England

There are several databases of interest to those researching in England. Besides the IGI and the Ancestral File, you should check these resources:
If you are trying to find an ancestor born prior to 1851 in England, try the 1851 British Census Index for Devon, Norfolk, and Warwick Counties taken on 31 March 1851. It provides the names, ages, relationships, occupations, and birthplaces of those who lived in these three counties.
If you are trying to find the parents or siblings of an ancestor who was born prior to 1881 in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, search the 1881 British Census Index and Abstracts. The 1881 British Census CD is a fully searchable index to the millions of individuals who were enumerated in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland in 1881.
The index links you immediately to an actual transcription of the information from the census including full names, ages, sex, color, birth place, and relationships. You may also ask for a neighbor search and see the neighbors on each side for possible collateral families.
