USING PROBATE RECORDS |

Many probate records are printed as:
abstracts, extracts, and transcriptions. Abbreviated or abridged
summaries of the original documents in which only essential data is
recorded is called an abstract. These usually contain a brief
synopsis which may include all names, dates, places, and
relationships identified within the record.
Verbatim transcriptions of portions of the original documents are called __________. A __________ refers to verbatim copies of complete records or any type of copy or reproduction. Printed __________ of original estate records may also name witnesses or others who acted in any capacity related to the proceedings as well as some reference to the property location or at least the county in which the record was filed and the dates that a will or probate proceeding was begun and recorded. |
