REVIEW OF THE RESEARCH CYCLE
You should read Chapter
Four of your textbook before you start this online lesson so that
you will understand the Surname/Locality Approach to determining
a specific locality when none is stated.
The research cycle is used over and
over again in your work. By now you have probably used it several
times. But sometimes, you cannot use available information to locate
more sources until alternative methodologies are learned.
For example, have you ever tried to
extend a line back another generation, but you cannot find the locality
to start searching in? Look at your own pedigree chart. Do you have
someone this situation could apply to right now? If so who is it?
What do you already know about this person? Be sure to indicate
all you know, just as it was illustrated for you in Chapter Four.
