General Index to Pension Applications |
| The Family History Library has 544 rolls of microfilm that index
all pension files from 1861 to 1934. This includes the Union Civil
War, the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection, and the
Boxer Rebellion. It is named "General index to pension files,
1861-1934." The Confederate Civil War microfilm records were
purchased from each of the state archives and they are also available
in the Family History Library.
Chapter 14 indicated that there were four types of pension records.
