When you have open the advanced search screen, you will see a Relationship Filter on the left and a Field Filter in the center. The field filters allow you to further refine the list of selected individuals to those who have similar information in fields in the individual record, marriage record, notes, or sources. You can combine these filters in any number of ways to suit your needs.
As you might suspect, the relationship filters allow you to create a listing of only the individuals, families, descendancy lines, or ancestral lines you want.
Choose an individual and click Select. When an individual is selected, a » appears next to the name. The total number of individuals. selected with each type of filter appears at the bottom of each smaller box. At any time that you want to learn more about this function, click the Help button at the bottom of the screen.
If you decide to not use a particular name, highlight it and click Deselect. If you wish to remove all the » you have made, click Clear.
You can select your entire list if you wish. Click anywhere in the textbox where you see Individual.
With All now in the Relationship Filter box, click Select.
Now you can deal with everyone in your database.
