Armchair Genealogy

You were introduced to the term "armchair genealogist" in Chapter 9 of the textbook and given a sample letter which could be used to obtain information from others for help. The places to receive help ranged from a Chamber of Commerce in an ancestor's home town to genealogical and historical societies in your ancestor's state.

Great Ancestral Hunt

The Great Ancestral Hunt CD has a lesson which covers these societies in greater detail. If you don't have the CD, click here to go to Chapter 4 in the Internet version of the lessons on the CD.

What organizations or agencies can you correspond with to resolve some of the questions on your own family? Write each organization or agency down on your Research Calendar to remind you to correspond with these repositories in the future.
