While you will learn more about the subject of goal setting in Lesson 15, the easiest goals can be found by simply looking at your Pedigree Charts and deciding if you are missing any information.
- Do you have a missing maiden name of a wife?
- Are there some localities missing from your records such as the place of birth, marriage, or death?
- Do you have missing parents for an ancestor?
Each one of these missing items can be selected as a goal.
Write down one missing item you have selected as shown in the illustration below EXCEPT you must be more specific. Don't just write down "What are the parents' names." Instead record, "What is the name of Henry Jackson's father. Henry Jackson was born May 1892 in Warren County, Ohio and died December 21, 1947 in the same place." This way you won't be running back and forth to your notes over and over again, and if you ask your teacher or a student in the class to help you, they will have enough information to do so.
