Once you have clicked Select, you are taken to the list of individuals in your file.
The selection process starts with a relationship filter. When thinking of which relationship to choose, it is the relationship to the person who's name has been highlighted in the name list.
There are several relationship options from which to choose. Underneath the list of names is a box that is titled Relationship Filter.
Click on the arrow next to the relationship that is displayed and you will see a list of relationships.
Individual — If you only want to submit one individual, highlight and select the Individual option.
Couple — If you only want to submit the couple which is highlighted, then select this option.
Family — If you want to submit the individual and his/her family, select this option.
All — If you want to submit all the individuals in your data file, highlight and select this option.
All Related — If you want to submit a person and all those related to that person, highlight and select this option. This would include all ancestors and descendants. When you click Select after indicating the relationship of All Related, you will see a screen asking if you want the parents of the selected persons to be selected also. When the screen appears click Yes or No.
Ancestors — If you want to submit the highlighted person and his/her ancestors, select this option. When you click Select, a screen requesting how many generations, are spouses to be submitted, are parents to be submitted will appear. Make the appropriate selections for your submission, and then click OK.
All Ancestors Related — If you want to submit all people related to the selected person, highlight this option, and then click Select. The same screen asking about selected parents as shown under All Related above will appear. Click the appropriate Yes or No.
Descendants — If you want to submit just the descendants of an individual, select this option and click Select. A screen asking about the number of generations and whether spouse of select individuals should be selected will then appear. Answer the appropriate items then click OK.
All Descendants Related — If you want to submit all related descendants of an individual, select the option and click Select.
Click OK after the selection has been made and the PAF program will return you to the GEDCOM Export screen.
